Cleanaire Questions and Answers

Q. Why Should I purchase this Air Purifier versus the other less expensive models on the market?

A. The technology used to manufacturer our air cleaners will surpass other air cleaners for durability, high performance, and easy programming in removal of a spectrum of air pollutants in indoor air. The pre-filter, charcoal filter, hospital grade HEPA filter, photo catalytic oxidation (PCO) working simultaneously with the germicidal UV lamp gives the most optimum air toxics removal efficiency not found in a majority of the air cleaners on the market. One other major issue to consider when comparing air cleaners is the clean air delivery rate (CADR). Our air cleaner’s maximum delivery rate is 265 cubic feet per minute (CFM) and can cover up to 1000 square feet of any regular sized room.

Q. Why is indoor air so important now?

A. Indoor air quality has always been a concern, but not enough attention was given to the problems that arise from poor air quality until recently. Poor ventilation, high temperature, humidity, and other sources of indoor air pollution contribute to poor air quality; thereby increasing the risk of developing asthma, allergy, fatigue, headaches, nausea and other health related issues.

Q. Does this unit generate ozone or negative ions?

A. No. Our units are UL or CE certified to be free of generating ozone or negative ions.

Q. Is it safe to leave the unit “On” all the time?

A. Yes. However, having the unit operating around the clock will decrease the performance of the filters more quickly and replacement of the filters and UV lamp will have to be done more frequently.

Q. How long will this unit last?

A. During normal and safe usage, this unit should be operational as long as you own your home. As with other electronics, proper routine maintenance is necessary for optimum performance. The manufacturer backs this air purifier with a limited two-year warranty on parts for any defects caused during the manufacturing only.

Q. I have severe allergies; will improving the air quality relieve some of my allergy symptoms?

A. Yes, by controlling the air in your home at all times you will notice a reduction of the symptoms of allergy and asthma-like symptoms.

Q. How often do I change the filters or UV lamps?

A. Our units have a built in light indicator that will illuminate when it’s time to replace the filters or UV lamp. Generally, we recommend that you replace the filters every 1-3 years and the UV lamp approximately every year.

Q. How do the filters and PCO system remove air pollution?

A. Each air purifier has two filters with PCO technology for maximum removal of air toxins. The pre-filter coated with charcoal is used not only as a protector of the other filters by attracting large particles and pollutants, but also helps in the removal of toxic chemicals, odors, harmful gas vapors and tobacco smoke. The hospital grade HEPA filter removes dust, pollen, dust mites, smoke as small as 0.3 microns in size at a 99.9% efficiency. The UV lamp incorporates a photo catalytic technology to destroy toxic chemicals and eliminates odors by combining highly reactive electrons with other elements in air such as bacteria and VOC’s & oxidizes them to yield CO2 and H2O for more purified clean air.
